Compact stereo tape-echo pedal with three tape machine types, spring reverb, a sound-on-sound looper and full MIDI control. Aimed at guitarists, and at keyboard, synth and bass players, who want vintage tape delay sounds without maintaining a tape machine.

El Capistan V2 is a digital pedal that models tape echo machines using dTape technology on an ARM DSP. A Tape Head switch selects fixed-head, multi-head or single sliding-head machines, and the Mode switch picks the playback heads or tape speed. Knobs cover time, repeats, mix, spring reverb, tape age and wow and flutter. Secondary functions adjust tape crinkle, bias, low end contour and a +/-3dB boost or cut.
The single-head machine includes a sound-on-sound looper with instant splice, bulk erase and two tape speeds, giving 20 seconds of tape at slow speed and 10 seconds at fast speed. A tap switch sets tempo, and holding it gives infinite repeats.
The pedal has a TRS stereo input with a rear mono/stereo switch, dual TS outputs and a line or instrument level setting. An EXP/MIDI jack and a USB-C port allow MIDI control, MIDI Clock Sync and firmware updates, with 300 preset locations. Bypass can be relay true bypass or buffered bypass. A power supply is not included.
