The Bones Vienna is a compact analog chorus pedal with two switchable programs. Stepping on the footswitch moves between a moderate chorus and a more intense, vibrato-like setting, which suits changes such as verse to bridge. The sound comes from a new-old-stock Panasonic MN3007 bucket brigade chip of 1976 vintage, and the circuit is designed to run quietly, with noise levels comparable to digital chorus pedals.
Each of the two channels has its own rate and depth controls. A turbo mode adds a proprietary oscillator waveform and a wider control range, taking the effect from a light chorus to heavy warble, tremolo or vibrato. Large LEDs show the status of the pedal on dark stages, and the enclosure is made of 14 gauge steel with a baked enamel finish.
The pedal runs from a standard 9V supply, which is not included, so it fits typical pedalboard power bricks. It sits in a mono signal path between guitar and amp. Drive pedals are normally placed ahead of it, and it can also be used with an ABY switcher for two amps or with a Voco-Loco for adding effects to a mic'd sax or trumpet. The model is discontinued and no longer shipping.
