The iKeyboard 5X pairs a 49-key, velocity-sensitive, semi-weighted keyboard with a compact DAW control surface. Pitch bend and modulation wheels, octave and transpose buttons, and selectable velocity curves for keys and pads cover the playing side. The control side has a backlit touch fader with LED feedback that follows the DAW and re-syncs when channels are switched, plus mute, solo and record-enable buttons with track and bank selection.
A six-button transport handles play, stop, record, rewind, fast forward and loop. A dual-function encoder with an 11-segment LED ring (turn or press) can be used for panning, sends and plugin parameters. There are 18 assignable backlit buttons and a 3-segment LED display. Presets use the Mackie Control and HUI protocols and cover Cubase, Nuendo, Logic Pro, Pro Tools, Ableton Live, Samplitude and Studio One. The included iMap software allows any control to be mapped to other MIDI applications.
The unit connects over USB 2.0 and is class-compliant on Windows, macOS and iOS. It also has a MIDI output jack and TRS inputs for expression and sustain pedals, with reversible sustain polarity. Firmware is updated over USB through iMap. A bundled software collection is included.
