The LINEAR 5 MK2 118 Sub HPA is a self-powered bass-reflex subwoofer built around an 18-inch driver with a 4-inch voice coil. A Class D amplifier delivers 1500 W RMS (3000 W peak), and the cabinet reaches a peak SPL of 131 dB with a -6 dB range starting at 36 Hz.
On-board DSP provides a parametric 10-band EQ with variable filter characteristics, low-pass filter, polarity, level, delay, limiter and mute. Filter presets cover Front, Cardioid 1:1 vertical, Cardioid 2:1 vertical and Remote, so cardioid sub arrays can be set up without manual programming. The unit can be controlled from the HK Audio DSP CONTROL software on Windows and Mac. Stereo preamplifier inputs simplify 2.1 setups.
Power comes in through a PowerCon NAC3 input with a Thru connector for daisy-chaining. Audio connects via two XLR/jack combo inputs, with two XLR outputs and a separate DSP output on XLR. Two Ethercon ports handle network in and out, and the unit supports Milan digital audio transmission. The birch plywood cabinet has four MultiGrip handles and an M20 pole mount.
