HD25
The HD25 is a compact DAC with a built-in preamp and remote control, used to connect computers, tablets, streamers and TV sources to an existing audio system. It suits listeners who want to feed active speakers, headphone amplifiers or an amplifier from digital sources.

The HD25 converts digital audio from four inputs (one USB soundcard, two coaxial and one optical S/PDIF) into analog signals on balanced XLR and unbalanced RCA line outputs. A built-in preamp and a remote control allow it to drive active loudspeakers or a headphone amplifier directly. Inputs can also be switched by tapping the front panel.
The design uses technology taken from the maker's Reference line, including silicon-germanium transistors for low noise, a choice of two digital filters, impedance-matched inputs and galvanic isolation on all inputs. The DAC is a 32-bit/192 kHz multilevel sigma-delta type, and power comes from a built-in toroidal transformer with 30,000 μF capacitors.
USB works as plug and play for standard use. For 24/192 material over USB, a switch on the rear panel is set and a high-resolution driver is installed; the other inputs handle this resolution without extra drivers. The unit is listed in the maker's discontinued range.
