The 15Watt Howitzer is a mono, analog guitar amp and preamp built around a solid-state class D power stage. It delivers 15 watts from a housing small enough to sit on a pedalboard or travel in a gig bag, and it can serve as a main amp in a portable rig or as a spare if a larger amp fails.
Tone is shaped with Volume, Gain, Bass, Mid and Treble controls. Volume works as a master level and interacts with Gain, which runs from clean to a warm overdriven sound. A Bright/Norm switch chooses between a slight top-end boost with more presence and a somewhat darker top end.
The input is a standard 1/4" jack with 1 MΩ impedance, so a guitar or a pedal chain can plug in directly. A Send/Line Out jack takes the preamp signal to an effects loop or serves as a direct output, and the Return jack feeds the power amp section. The Return can also be used as a direct power amp input that bypasses the preamp. The speaker output connects to a cabinet of 8–16 ohms. A 24VDC power adapter is included. The model has been discontinued.
