The VICSB8X is a one-way, 8-inch polypropylene woofer unit for ceiling mounting, rated at 80 W RMS (320 W peak) into 8 ohms. It is meant to add low-frequency reinforcement to a ceiling speaker system and has an integrated crossover filter. Its effective range is 35 Hz to 185 Hz (-10 dB), with a sensitivity of 89 dB (1 W/1 m) and maximum SPL of 108 dB continuous and 114 dB peak.
A multi-tap 70/100V line transformer lets it run on constant-voltage lines, with taps of 60, 30, 15 and 7.5 W on 100V and an extra 3.75 W tap on 70V, or it can be driven at 8 ohms directly. A plastic back can and tile bridge anchors come with the unit, so it can be fitted into false ceilings of 10 to 50 mm thickness. The magnetic metal alloy grille attaches without screws and can be painted to match the room.
The unit is finished in white (RAL 9010), measures 282 x 200 mm (Ø x D) and weighs 3.9 kg. It has an IPX4 rating and is specified for operation between -20 and 70 °C.
