The 802 D4 is a three-way vented-box tower speaker with a 25 mm diamond-dome tweeter in a solid-body enclosure on top of the cabinet, a 150 mm Continuum cone FST midrange and two 200 mm Aerofoil cone bass drivers. The midrange sits in the Turbine Head enclosure shared with the 801 D4 and is mechanically decoupled from the bass drivers to reduce interference. Biomimetic Suspension supports the midrange cone, and the bass cones carry an Anti-Resonance Plug.
The cabinet has an aluminium top-plate fitted with Leather by Connolly trim, black for dark finishes and light grey for lighter ones. Matrix internal bracing and Flowport port technology are listed among the technical features. Finishes are Gloss Black, White, Satin Rosenut and Satin Walnut, with black or grey grilles.
The nominal impedance is 8 Ω with a 3.0 Ω minimum, and the recommended amplifier power is 50 W to 500 W. The speaker is a passive model driven from an external amplifier through speaker cables, with a maximum recommended cable impedance of 0.1 Ω.
