Midilooper

The Midilooper captures incoming MIDI notes, dynamics and other control messages and loops them the way an audio looper handles recorded sound. Because the loops stay in the control domain, other processes such as timbre modulation or envelope changes can run on top of them at the same time.

There are three voices, each assignable to its own MIDI channel, so it can drive three separate devices. Each voice can be recorded, muted, overdubbed or cleared individually. Playback modifiers include transposition, octave transpose, velocity lock and shift, quantization, shuffle, humanization, odd loop lengths, time stretch, and doubling or halving of playback speed.

It syncs by MIDI clock (over TRS), analog clock with an adjustable divider/multiplier, or its own tap-tempo or free-running clock. It has one MIDI input and two MIDI outputs, plus CV and trigger inputs for transpose, velocity, re-trigger and reset, a metronome output, and a pedal input for record, clear and voice selection. Power comes from a 5 V Micro USB connection.
