KSM137

The KSM137 is a small diaphragm condenser microphone with a single cardioid polar pattern and an end-address design. It uses a very thin gold-layered Mylar diaphragm, which is intended to give fast transient response, and a discrete Class A transformerless preamplifier. Internal and external connectors are gold-plated.

On the body there is a 3-position switchable pad (0 dB, 15 dB and 25 dB) for very loud sources, and a 3-position low-frequency filter that cuts background noise and counters proximity effect. A subsonic filter removes mechanical rumble below 17 Hz. The microphone has low self-noise, extended frequency response and can handle very high sound pressure levels.

Typical uses include acoustic guitar, piano, strings, brass and woodwind, double bass, bass guitar, kick drum, drum overheads, choirs, orchestras and room ambience pickup. It ships with a case, a foam windscreen and a stand adapter.
