A-49

The A-49 is a lightweight MIDI controller built around 49 full-size, velocity-sensitive keys with a rounded key shape, reduced mechanical noise and no vertical key shake. It is available in pearl white and black finishes and weighs 2.5 kg, so it is easy to carry between rooms or venues.

On the control side there are two assignable knobs (C1, C2), two assignable buttons (S1, S2), a pitch bend/modulation lever and a D-BEAM controller that responds to hand movement above it. Octave and transpose buttons come with LED indicators, and a Function button gives access to extra settings through the keys. A SuperNATURAL button lets the controller assign its controls automatically for SuperNATURAL sound modules and synths such as the INTEGRA-7, JUPITER-80 and JUPITER-50.

The A-49 connects to a computer through a USB Type B port and takes its power from the USB bus, drawing 98 mA, so no AC adapter is needed. A MIDI OUT connector serves hardware, and jacks for a hold pedal and an expression pedal are on the recessed rear panel. It can also be used with an iPad through Apple's iPad Camera Connection Kit.
