The Platina Integrated is the power-amplifier-equipped flagship of Quad's Platina series. Its dual-mono class AB output stage is rated at 2 x 200W into 8 ohms and 300W into 4 ohms, supplied by a 630VA toroidal transformer with 44,000uF of filter capacity per channel. Volume is set by a four-channel active analogue control, and a 4.3-inch colour IPS display with a menu-driven interface handles settings.
The digital section is built around an ES9038PRO DAC with two master clocks, one for the 44.1kHz family and one for the 48kHz family. The USB input accepts PCM up to 768kHz and DSD512. Lower-resolution PCM can be upsampled to 352.8kHz or 384kHz, and five reconstruction filters are selectable. The unit is Roon Tested. A dedicated JFET MM/MC phono stage offers 46, 52 and 60dB gain, and a current-feedback headphone amplifier is included.
Connections cover analogue RCA and balanced XLR, phono, coaxial and optical digital, USB Type-C and HDMI ARC for a TV. Outputs include RCA and XLR pairs, speaker binding posts and digital optical and coaxial outputs. A remote control is supplied and the same remote works across the Platina series. It is available in black or silver.
