Pick it MC2

The Pick it MC2 is a moving-coil cartridge that replaces the Pick it MC1 as the entry point to the maker's MC range. It pairs an elliptical diamond with an aluminium cantilever, and the light stylus and coil assembly is meant to give wider frequency range, better transient response and more resolution of low-level detail than comparable MM designs.

The generator uses a neodymium N40H magnet and a square coil wound with 6N OFC copper. The body is resonance-optimised ABS, and the whole cartridge weighs about 5 g. Its medium compliance suits most entry-level to mid-range turntables and tonearms. Tracking force is 1.7–2.1 g, with 1.9 g recommended.

It mounts in a standard half-inch pattern, and threaded holes in the body allow fitting without nuts. Because MC output is roughly 20 dB lower than MM, it needs a phono stage with enough gain and a suitable MC input. The low source impedance reduces hum pickup, and the design suits balanced connections.
