The U24 is a plug-and-play USB microphone that pairs a large-diaphragm condenser capsule with an on-board 16-bit A/D converter running at 44.1 or 48 kHz. The cardioid pattern reduces pickup from the sides and rear. An LED on the body changes from green to red when the signal is too hot.
A 3.5 mm input jack accepts a mono instrument such as a guitar or bass, or a stereo line-level source such as an MP3 player or keyboard. An input selector switches between Line and Mic/Inst, and separate gain knobs for Mic and Inst/Line sit on the front panel. A 3.5 mm headphone output with a volume knob allows zero-latency monitoring, and a direct monitoring selector offers Stereo, Mono and PC settings.
The body is die-cast with a heavy-gauge mesh grill. A metal pop filter, a table-top stand and a cable set (guitar cable, headphone extension, stereo line with RCA adapters, USB cable) are included. A bundle of software comes with it, including Bitwig Studio 8-Track and several plugin collections. An optional shockmount, the SP01, is available separately.
