P30A

The P30A is a line-level preamplifier designed to pass the source signal to a power amplifier with as little change as possible. The signal path is kept short and passes through only two transistors and a low-noise volume attenuator. The FET transistors are single-pair types and are individually measured and matched by hand.

The circuit is fully balanced, with two amplifiers, volume controls and SoundEngine modules per channel. SoundEngine is a patented feed-forward system that monitors the signal and corrects intermodulation distortion in real time. Specified figures include signal-to-noise above 130 dB in balanced mode, crosstalk below -100 dB and distortion below 0.005 %.

On the back there are 2 balanced XLR and 3 unbalanced RCA inputs, plus a fixed-level Home Theatre input that can also be set up as a normal input. Outputs are one XLR and two RCA, all active at once, and one RCA output can be set to fixed level. A 3.5 mm IR-direct input and a 3.5 mm 12V trigger output are also fitted. The remote control handles volume, source and mute.
