Q-Tron

The Q-Tron is an envelope filter that shapes the tone of the incoming signal according to how hard the instrument is played. Its filter can be set to low pass, band pass or high pass, and a switch chooses whether the sweep moves up or down. A resonant peak control sets the filter's Q, so the effect can range from gentle to pronounced.

A boost switch and an adjustable gain knob set the input level that drives the filter, and two frequency response modes (hi and lo) change the range the filter works in. The maker states that the pedal has a wider frequency response and an improved signal-to-noise ratio compared with earlier designs, which makes it suitable for use with any instrument. The bypass is true bypass.

The pedal sits in a compact die-cast chassis and is supplied with a 24DC-100 power supply. It was discontinued in 2017, so it is mainly found on the used market.
