Carina FS2474

The FS2474 is the floorstanding model of the Carina series. It is a 2-1/2 way vented-box design that pairs two 5-1/4 inch aluminum cone woofers with ELAC's JET folded ribbon tweeter, which is handcrafted in Germany. The woofer cones have a compound curvature, and the drivers sit on a rigid cast chassis with an oversized magnet and a vented pole piece, which are intended to reduce distortion and improve control and power handling.

The softly curved cabinet includes a downward-firing bass reflex port, which allows more flexible placement in the room. Crossover points are 1 kHz and 2.7 kHz, and the stated frequency range is 34 Hz to 30 kHz. Sensitivity is 87 dB (2.83 V/1 m) with a nominal impedance of 6 ohms (4.8 ohms minimum), and the recommended amplifier power is 30 to 250 watts per channel.

The speaker connects to an external amplifier or receiver and can be used for stereo music or as the front speakers of a home theater system. It comes in Satin Black and Satin White. The Carina series also includes the BS2434 bookshelf speaker and the CC2414 center channel.
