The Artist V2 is a moving-magnet cartridge that uses an ebony body to keep resonance low. The design reduces moving mass, uses an HD grinding technique on the stylus, and applies damping to the cartridge. The stylus is an elliptical diamond on an aluminium cantilever.
Each cartridge is measured several times on four levels, analysed and hand-selected, which is intended to give well-matched stereo channels and low phase and transient distortion. Frequency response is stated as 20 Hz to 20 kHz, with an output of about 3.6 mV and 24 dB channel separation at 1 kHz.
The cartridge weighs 8.4 g (± 0.4 g) and has a recommended tracking force of 2.2 g ± 0.3 g. Electrical loading is 47 kΩ and 100 pF. The MM V2 series is described as working with all common tonearms. A 2-year manufacturer warranty applies when the warranty card is returned within 14 days of purchase.
